My daughter has a hard time drawing people - she can draw all sorts of other things, but people are a struggle. I was happy to review The Art of Figure Drawing for Beginners, which has techniques and tips to create artistic figure drawings.
Although it says "for Beginners" it probably isn't for absolute beginners. The drawings are a little complex - I couldn't reproduce them, although my daughter did just fine. I'd saw it's appropriate for beginning figure drawing, but it should be someone who has at least tried their hand at sketching before.
The content covers many great topics that are instrumental in creating quality figure drawings - basic anatomy, variations in shape and proportion, guidelines for single and group poses, and more. I even learned something - like the fact that you sketch out the whole figure even if it will be covered to make sure everything is in the right place.

The Collector's Series offers approachable, step-by-step art instruction for a variety of mediums and subjects, such as drawing, oil, acrylic, watercolor, cartooning, calligraphy, and more. Perfect for beginning artists, each title features artist tips for drawing or painting anything and everything from people, animals, and still life to flowers, trees, and landscapes.
