Time Tidbits: Mama's Got Goals Planner

The newly launched Mama’s Got Goals Planner was created during Covid to help moms beat the Covid blues.  Mompreneur Justine McDonald of Goal Chasers created the ultimate planning system for busy mamas to put their dreams back in the driver's seat: the Mama's Got Goals Planner.

In our modern world, technology offers us one-stop shops for most of life's inconveniences - we opt for Amazon Prime rather than venturing to multiple stores, we order food to our doors instead of rushing to throw dinner together on Friday after a busy week. The Mama’s Got Goals Planner incorporates the same philosophy - rather than add your goals to a long, existing to-do list, Mama's Got Goals puts mama's priorities right on top.

This 12-month planner contains more than 300 pages and is packed with personal development tools designed to help moms bring back their ”before kids” sparkle back. These tools include vision casting, goal setting, establishing a morning routine, mindset-shifting tools, how to create more energy, a daily gratitude practice, and so much more. It also utilizes leadership development and time management strategies that can be applied to all areas of your life.

I had a chance to interview her to learn more!

1. Why did you create this planner?

I was a new Mom, turned new entrepreneur and I was incredibly overwhelmed. Overwhelmed with sll the advices, the decisions and how to blend it all together with my new role as Mom. I needed a system that was all in one place, to walk me through the clutter in my head so I could gain clarity around my goals. I spent so much time trying to piece together free downloads and youtube videos - which had so many varying opinions that even the free tools overwhelmed me! I couldn't find one, easy to follow system that allowed me to break through that feeling of shutting down, so I created it!

2. What is the most unique feature of this planner?

This planner has coaching tools to help Moms move through the most common road blocks people face when trying to achieve their goals ( lack of time, energy, money, brain power or confidence). It's designed to be your own personal cheerleader AND to give you the step-by-step breakdown of how to plan, execute achieve the goal with confidence. It's not just a planner, it's a support system.

3. Why is it so hard for Moms to put their goals on top?

Moms are conditioned long before their child even arrives to put the baby first. Don't eat this, don't do that, make sure you take this, only drink this, exercise daily but not for too long. Then the baby arrives and life is thrown at you, so quickly. You don't have time to reflect and devise a new game plan. You're still in survival mode. So you stay there and tell yourself you'll do it when the kids are older, when you have more time and maybe more money. But that day never comes...unless you make a plan for it.

4. How can mothers prioritize tasks and make time for self care?

The number one reason Moms don't have a selfcare routine is they don't grant themselves permission to take that time. They feel guilty for taking time away from their kids or leaving their partner alone to invest in themselves. When really, giving themselves that time to recharge creates more calm and focused energy. So they can accomplish more in less time!

So the first step to prioritizing self-care is to grant yourself permission by believing you deserve it. Filling your cup first allows you to have an abundance of energy to give to others. You can't help anyone if you're constantly running on empty!

Schedule in your self care daily, even if it's a 15min walk or a trip to get groceries (alone). When you take care of yourself, it becomes much easier to plan & execute your goals with confidence.

Then all you have to do is break that big goal down into monthly, weekly, and daily tasks and use the tools inside the Mama’s Got Goals Planner to help keep you on track. And poof, you can have a wildly different life 12 months from now.
