There’s no more beating around the bush. The indoor plant trend is here to stay.
In fact, houseplant sales have increased 50 percent in recent years, with some Millennials even deeming them their "plant babies." As moms, juggling just one baby can feel dizzying, let alone adding a plant baby to the mix and perhaps a furbaby on top of it.
Good news is that the mental health benefits of pet-owning and plant-owning are aplenty, some of which might even benefit our parenting. Research has shown that plants make us more productive and improve our memory. And owning a pet can provide instant comfort during everyday trials and even encourage us to exercise. Thanks, dog walks!
All this to say, caring for something else — animals or plants — can be viewed as a means to care for ourselves and, in turn, our wee ones. Honest Paws pared down more of these health benefits of plant and pet ownership, as well as compiled a list of pet-safe plants so you needn’t feel the stress of whether or not your own plant babies and fubabies can live in harmony. View some of them in the infographic below.
