Book Nook: Spring Books from Zonderkidz

I recently got a fun box of books from Zonderkidz that I was happy to see. My family enjoyed reading them, even though some of them are geared towards younger kids than my daughters.

LEO, Inventor Extraordinaire is a novel for ages 8–12 about an orphan searching for his family, a kid genius who is always getting into trouble, and the mysterious fate of a genius toy inventor. I loved the humor in this book - it was family-friendly and engaging for my daughter, who loves to create things and solve problems. It was easy enough to read to engage reluctant readers, and has a satisfying story line.

Stay This Way Forever by Linsey Davis, ABC News correspondent and bestselling author of The World Is Awake and One Big Heart, was inspired by the qualities in her own son. While as parents sometimes we want to hold on to moments, I thought this book had a great perspective on holding on to positive qualities. The illustrations are charming and playful, and it's a sweet book for kids.

Pugtato, Let’s Be Best Spuddies is a cute book about Pugtato who learns about being friends - learning to play, listen, share, and help. It's a fun book with whimsical illustrations that make the lessons learned about friendship lighthearted but still important.

Love You, Little Peanut is a great book for the littlest readers. It's a book about the bond between a little one and his or her caregiver. The illustrations are adorable and the rhymes are sweet, echoing the special moments between young readers and those who love them.
