Consumer Critique: Mad Libs Reading Workbooks

I love Mad Libs, and so do my kids. It's a sneaky way of reinforcing basic grammar concepts and reading, while giving kids a fun and humorous experience. They're expanding their series of supplemental educational workbooks with MAD LIBS Reading Workbooks for Grades 3 and 4, which I got to review.

The workbooks were launched to help provide extra educational resources at home and are perfect for review to prevent summer slide. The material aligns with Common Core Standards in phonics, writing, spelling and grammar, and vocabulary. They join the grades 1 and 2 workbooks, which are also available.

The books include brief lessons and fill-in-the-blank Mad Libs games, which provides a way to learn in a fun setting, and one that doesn't require any screens or batteries. They have samplers available for educators to check out, so you can see what it looks like for yourself!

About Mad Libs:

Mad Libs was created by comedy writers Leonard Stern and Roger Price as an inventive and unpredictable game they played with their friends at parties. In 1958, the legendary talk show host Steve Allen used Mad Libs to hilariously introduce guests. Three days later, stores across the country had completely sold out of Mad Libs, and a star was born. Mad Libs has since become the world’s most popular word game, with over 125 million Mad Libs in print and more than 14 million downloads of the mobile app.
