I recently had a chance to review Tidesong. My daughter really enjoyed this book. It featured magic, legend, and a female main character for whom her magic doesn't quite always work out. And there's a dragon.
Sophie has to face a dilemma - she's accidentally summoned a dragon who could help her with her magic exams, but that would obstruct his ability to regain his memories. The story weaves in right and wrong, magic and adventure, hard work, and honesty.
It's a graphic novel with a pretty color scheme - the story is well-written throughout and the format is great for more reluctant readers. The illustrations really bring life to the story, and it's perfect for middle grade and adult readers who love imagination and magic.
