I had a chance to see a couple photography books published by Rocky Nook.
The first, Creative Garden Photography, was great for my two kids. My older one loves nature and my younger is getting into photography, so this was a great book for them to work on expanding their artistic horizons together. I liked the scope of this book, in getting big-picture views and in noticing details. It was very inspiring and great for anyone looking to improve their photography skills, especially when it comes to plants and nature.
The second one was great for my husband. He doesn't do a ton of portrait photography, but he does do some, so The Posing Playbook for Photographing Kids gave him some great tips to try out. It offers suggestions and ideas for a variety of situations and can help photographers come up with more ways to really capture a child's personality and put them in situations where they'll be comfortable and fun to work with.
Also available, if you're interested in trivia, is the Photography Trivia Deck - it could make a good gift for people who are interested in that!
