Book Nook: Create Your Own Tarot Cards

 

I recently had a chance to review Create Your Own Tarot Cards, a new art book from The Quarto Group. Even though we don't really use tarot cards or hold a lot of stock in telling fortunes, my daughter likes the style and characterization that can be found on tarot cards, so she enjoyed the chance to look through this book.

The art style is a lot more modern than some tarot cards I've seen, but that makes it even more fun because it's a different, more updated style. The book combines two elements - painting lessons from Adrianna Hawthorne of Ponnopozz that show readers how to make beautiful, color cards; and explanation of tarot reading from Theresa Reed, The Tarot Lady. The explanations and lessons are easy to follow, engaging, and interesting, and it's a great book for any artist interested in creating their own tarot deck.
