Board books are so much fun - they're durable and have kid-friendly, bold illustrations and simple stories. They're a great way to introduce kids to a lifetime of reading.
I had a chance to review two recent board books: Spencer on the Farm and Spencer Goes to School. These board books are a fun shape that's a little more eye-catching than traditional square board books. Both books touch on some of the common elements kids are likely to face (even if they never go on a farm, and even if they end up homeschooled) - animals, sounds, and plants; playgrounds, packing, and meeting new people. The vocabulary is appropriate for early read-to-me books, and the stories are simple and cute.
