1. What are some of the benefits of CBD?

Many people take CBD to help support healthy sleep, immune health, and mental health. As more research emerges surrounding CBD, experts will have a better understanding of exactly how CBD benefits overall health and wellness. 

2. Why is it important to know the source of CBD supplements?

CBD is derived from either marijuana or hemp plants. Both plants are the same species: Cannabis sativa. But there’s one important difference. Marijuana has higher levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is the component of cannabis responsible for making you feel “high.” Federal law requires hemp plants to contain no more than 0.3% THC by dry weight – so hemp has very little THC and has much higher concentrations of CBD. 

If you’re trying to avoid THC, it’s typically best to choose a CBD product derived from hemp instead of marijuana. Keep in mind that full-spectrum CBD products (even those derived from hemp oil) may still contain small amounts of THC, so your best bets for a THC-free product are a CBD isolate or broad-spectrum CBD. CBD isolates contain only CBD, while broad-spectrum CBD typically has THC removed, but still contains all other components of the hemp plant.
