Nearly 1 in 3 Gen Zers rated their mental health in 2022 as “bad,” according to a recent report.
The nationwide survey found 42% of Gen Z have a diagnosed mental health condition and 1 in 5 go to therapy.
Other highlights from the report include:
- 1 in 4 was diagnosed with a mental health condition after the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic
- Top diagnosed conditions: anxiety (90%), depression (78%), and ADHD (27%)
- 57% take medication for their mental health condition; paying an average of $44/month
- Overwhelming majority (87%) feel comfortable talking about mental health
While Gen Z may be making strides when it comes to seeking treatment and tearing stigmas, their outlook for the future is less positive: 85% feel their generation hasn’t been set up for success, 50% don’t feel ready to join the workforce, and 66% don’t feel financially stable.
