I had a chance to interview Ayla Porter ("Lisa"), soon to be seen in CTC's upcoming production of Corduroy (Feb. 14 - Apr. 2).
What has been the most surprising part of being in Corduroy? The most surprising part of being in Corduroy is how fast the entire process is going. From rehearsal to opening night.
What makes acting such an enjoyable experience for you? Acting is enjoyable because you get to be a totally different person.
What makes Corduroy such a fun story? Corduroy is fun because the bear comes to life.
How do you balance being a student and acting? I balance being a student and acting by working on schoolwork during my breaks.
Ayla Porter (she/her) has been singing, dancing, and acting since the age of three. Ayla enjoyed being an understudy in Something Happened in Our Town at Children’s Theatre Company. And loved showcasing her many talents at the Capri Theater in a variety show and again in The Wiz Jr.
Corduroy will play from February 14 – April 2, 2023 at CTC’s UnitedHealth Group Stage (2400 Third Avenue South Minneapolis MN 55404). Opening Night is Saturday, February 18 at 7pm. Tickets may be purchase online at childrenstheatre.org/corduroy or by calling the ticket office at 612.874.0400. Ticket prices start at $15.
