Amy Lundy is the founder of The Mother of All Baby Showers (MOABS). Since its inception in 2012, MOABS has focused on four key values: inclusivity, education, celebration, and relationship-building. While the company has grown significantly, their values have never changed. Events remain focused on the needs of expectant and new parents, and as current events, health trends and baby gear changes, MOABS has evolved too.
- Why did you create the Mother of All Baby Showers?
I wanted to connect expectant and new parents in a unique, fun celebratory way, for aka adults-only and in the evening, to resources, experts, education and each other. I wanted to create an created that combined learning, laughing and leaving with confidence in cities around the US. As a new mom myself, I felt building relationships was so important and building up your database of products, services and people to help you along the way was vital to you and your family being healthy and happy in the short and long run.
- Why is it important for new parents to be able to find out about products from other new parents?
It’s so important to build that community around you, filled with people with all different mindsets and experiences. To share the ups and downs and support each other. Parents who know products can tell you what works and doesn’t works and answer questions and give advice because of their hands-on opportunities to use products. You can go online and into stores to gather information, but it’s also amazing to have a network of other parents who will share their honest opinions and help guide you one way or another, especially with SO many options out there in virtually ever product category. They can also tell you about products you may not have even known about!
- What are some classic baby products that have stood the test of time?
Chicco, hands-down for products like their All 4 One car seat. Magic Sleepsuit for sleep training your child. OXO Tot for silicone feeding items. Dr. Brown’s for baby bottles. BOB (part of Britax) running stroller. And MomSquad Clothing for athleisure wear for moms on the go.
- What are some newer, more innovative baby products that are worth checking out?
Necessity is the mother of invention, and no one knows this better than Amy. In 2020, in response to the coronavirus and the challenges expectant and new parents were facing, Amy pivoted MOABS and went fully digital with Project Pregnant. In-person or virtual, Amy's goal is always for attendees to walk away with new insights, resources, friends, and a renewed sense of confidence.
Amy resides in Boca Raton, FL with her three children, Alexandria (11), Jude (9) and Daryn (5).
