I recently had a chance to review Tech-Life Balance: 101 Ways to Thrive in a Digital World. Tech-life balance, for the purposes of the book, is defined as using technology in a way that doesn’t have a negative effect on your personal life or relationships.
Technology can be a great tool. It can also be overused. Like anything else, when it gets in the way of relationships or other priorities, then it's time to carefully evaluate its role in our lives. This book acknowledges the necessity of using technology (at least, for many people), while also providing a rationale for curbing its influence in our lives.
Apart from the introduction, each of the tips in the book are extremely brief. This makes it really easy to look through and find the ones that would work for you, as well as advice on their implementation. Most of the tips I had heard before, at some point, but having them all in a clear and concise book was really helpful.
Even if you don't think there's a problem with your tech-life balance, this book can still help streamline how you do use technology, by providing goals and time-management tips related to tech that can reduce the amount of time you need to spend during certain tasks.
