Country music fans first met Ian Flanigan when he was Team Blake on "The Voice." He finished third on the show and later collaborated with Shelton. Now he's back, his husky voice gliding across the lyrics of his song "Under A Southern Sky." And he stars in the music video, which is out today. - CMT
Jessi Alexander, Jon Randall, and Jonathan Singleton wrote the song and Justin Mayotte directed the video, which Flanigan said brings "Under A Southern Sky" to life "by capturing the small, hometown nights in a big way."
"Celebrating campfires, backroads, and good times are what it's all about," Flanigan continues.
Ian's favorite scene in the video comes when they're lighting a lantern and launching it into the sky.
"We originally had a dozen to light, but the wind was so bad we could only get one on camera," Ian shares. "The others took off into the woods. No trees were harmed! But that was a funny and intense behind-the-scenes moment."
He said he's always honored to have such "talented people" on his team to help him create art. "It's something you never get used to," he said. The New York native is grateful for the opportunity to release "Under A Southern Sky" along with its video and hopes fans enjoy it as much as he did making it. "I hope this video reminds country fans of the way they spend their time with their friends and family back home," he said. "I hope they feel good every time they hear 'Under A Southern Sky.'"

About Ian Flanigan:
Slow, stoic, southern grace is how Ian can be accurately described. He is humble yet focused, peaceful but engaged, and undisputedly talented. For the last decade, he has toured his distinct voice and evocative lyrics across America, with a country sound reminiscent of Joe Cocker and Chris Stapleton.
Ian found fame by becoming Blake Shelton’s finalist on NBC’s The Voice, where he was dubbed a “once-in-a-lifetime vocalist” by Shelton. Since that time he has released an album with chart-topping singles (“Grow Up” reached #5 on the US iTunes sales chart with well over 3 million streams), extensively toured with the likes of Trace Adkins and Chris Janson, and will release his sophomore album, with more singles and videos being released throughout the summer. He has been featured on CMT, RFD-TV, Fox News, American Songwriter, Whiskey Riff, The Music Universe, Country Now, Everything Nash, Entertainment Tonight, People Magazine, USA Today, Yahoo News, The Wrap, and more.
He represents Taylor Guitars, Denon, Picklejar, Lucchese, and KICKER AUDIO, gains exposure as a Reviver Publishing writer in Nashville, and released his debut album Strong in 2022 on Reviver Records.
