Most people would love to spend the holidays with their family, but just not every member of the family.
A new study found that 1 in 4 Americans plan to spend the holidays alone this year, and family dynamics are a big factor.
Key findings:
- 1 in 3 Americans say they will spend the holidays alone this year to avoid certain family members.
- 1 in 4 Americans say they will spend the holidays alone this year because they can't afford to travel to visit friends or family.
- 1 in 4 Americans who see loved ones say if their family/friends wouldn't guilt them, they would choose to spend the holidays alone.
- 52% of Americans say they would enjoy time with family or friends more during the holidays if they didn't judge them.
- Nearly a third of Americans who spend the holidays alone say they regret it.
