Enriching Education - Personality and Language Learning

 The Myers-Briggs test has long been a popular method for individuals to gain valuable insights about their strengths, weaknesses & motivations.

Preply, a language lessons platform, surveyed 1,000 English learners in September 2024 to determine if personality types can influence language learning.

Key findings:

  • ENFJ, ENTP & ENTJ personality types have the most success when learning a new language through a variety of methods.
  • ISTP, ISFP & ESTP personality types have the hardest time learning a new language through a variety of methods.
  • The ENFJ  personality type is best at speaking writing and grammar when learning a new language.\
  • The INTP personality type is the best at reading a new language.
  • The ENFJ & ENTP personality types tie in for best at listening to a new language.
