Book Nook - Too Much Tony

I recently had a chance to see a copy of “Too Much Tony” by bestselling author, clinical psychologist and Asians For Mental Health founder Dr. Jenny T. Wang.

Tony is constantly told he is "too much" for the situation. But the book turns that around, turning the "too much" idea into strength. It highlights the importance of belonging, and feeling seen for who you are, not for what others want you to be. It's a book that can help kids - including neurodiverse kids - embrace their individuality. It also celebrates Asian heritage using the qilin from Chinese mythology.

I enjoyed this book. It's a great read for kids are constantly being told that they're too intense. It's wonderful to see AAPI voices in children's literature, both for kids to celebrate their own culture and for others to learn more about the beautiful diversity that exists in the world.

"Too Much Tony" is published by Third State Books, the first general-interest indie publishing house dedicated exclusively to AAPI voices and stories.
