Area Attractions: Twin Cities Corn Maze

A few weeks ago, I posted about Pink Pumpkin Patch and buying pink pumpkins to raise money for breast cancer. One of the places you can buy pink pumpkins (they also have orange, white, and dark red pumpkins) in the TC area is the Twin Cities Harvest Festival and Maze in Brooklyn Park. We went a week and a half ago and loved it, even though it was a chilly day. Inside the corn maze it's actually not too cold - the corn cuts the wind.

We didn't use a map and were able to find our way out pretty well. You can also use the map to find all of the letters, which makes a trivia contest and also a secret message for kids (each sign has a letter kids need to write). The theme this year is military appreciation, so the questions are military themed (don't worry, you have choices for the answers) and so is the maze.

Besides the maze itself, there are a lot of other activities, some included in the $9 price (kids under 3-ft are free): a petting zoo (feeding the animals costs a little extra), a mini haybale maze (pictured above with my daughter), and a giant corn pit (that was really fun and a good workout!). There were a ton of animals for the petting zoo area, so it was a good mini-science lesson for my girls. For an extra charge, kids can ride ponies, jump in giant bounce houses, go down a big slide, or use the assisted trampoline. Families can also purchase food and pumpkins, or go on hayrides. There's also a playground structure in case your kids haven't burned off enough energy doing everything else!

The maze is open for MEA October 18th and 19th, and also open weekends through October 28th from 10-6. A portion of every ticket is donated to the Minnesota Military Family Foundation. Get there from 10-noon and save $1 off each ticket.

Disclosure: I received complimentary passes to visit the corn maze to facilitate this post.
