Mealtime Magic: Healthy Fiesta Eating

Disclosure: I received complimentary products to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

Nachos, fajitas, dips, and tacos are popular summer party dishes, but can often be heavy with calories and fat. If you're celebrating Mexican-style, here are some tips to stay healthy.

  • A margarita can have over a quarter cup of sugar. Consider sweetening cocktails with berries or fruit juice.
  • Fill your burritos, tacos, and other dishes with beans, brown rice, and vegetables to add fiber and reduce saturated fat.
  • Choose healthier chips, such as corn chips or those made with flaxseed or other vegetables. Watch the sodium content too!

These tips are brought to you by Weight Watchers Smart Ones fajitas, all under 350 calories and with 10-19g protein depending on variety. I got to try a few, and they weren't bad. The portions are small, but filling. I added lettuce between the tortilla and filling to up the nutritional content and add a tasty crunch.
