Isn’t it nice to book a cruise with Jack and Rose on-board?
Surely, the movie, ‘Titanic’, has changed the way people perceive boarding on
ships and while luxury and romance are what you can expect from a cruise, there
are many things you need to more than consider when preparing for your ship to
set sail.
While traveling by water before served as a
need, it seems that more and more types of cruise ships continuously arise,
thanks to the ever-increasing demand of time and people. Now, before you get
all too excited for your much-anticipated vacation, you should never overlook
the fact that traveling by plane is much different from booking a cruise. Therefore,
the things you need to pack will also vary greatly, especially if you booked a
long cruise.
The
Right Luggage
The right suitcase would definitely get you
going on your week-long vacation, minus the hassles and weary muscles. Theimportant
factors you have to consider are the weight of your bag, its flexibility, its
capability to hold all your belongings in the most organized way, and of
course, the ease in carrying or strolling it around. Also, to avoid the
inconvenience of getting your bag mixed up with others, carry a bag that is
unique in colour. This way, you won’t have much problems in identifying your
suitcase.
The
Itinerary
Before you set foot on your cruise ship, it
is important for you to study the itinerary. This way, you’d not miss out on
anything while on cruise and you’d also be able to plan all the clothes you
need to bring ahead of time. The main difference in cruising and traveling on
your own is that there are always time frames, and you need to really be alert
on where and when you’d land. When packing, try to envision what you would use
at the first few days of the cruise and on the latter parts. The ones you’d probably
wear at the latter days should be placed on the bottom part of your luggage
just to avoid all the hassle of finding this and that.
The
Toiletries
While it is alright to not pack as much
toiletries as you can when traveling abroad, going on a cruise is a completely
different story. You don’t really have your most-trusted convenient stores
nearby, and this means that you should never expect that everything you need will
be accessible. Now, you don’t really have to worry as you don’t have to pack
your whole bathroom just to make sure you got everything you need. Instead, use
sachets of moisturizers, conditioners, toothpaste and all that jazz—and make
sure you bring enough for the duration of your trip.
Extra
Space
It may be hard, but you have to say ‘no’ to
bringing all your glamorous clothes. When on a cruise, you need to leave a
space on your baggage just in case you want to shop for souvenir items. Also,
you don’t need to bring your whole wardrobe since the cruise ship has their own
laundry facility which can help you keep all your clothes clean and comfy.
