Soul Sustenance: Fashioned to Reign

Disclosure: I received complimentary products to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

I just got done reading  Fashioned to Reign: Empowering Women to Fulfill Their Divine Destiny and really liked it. Let me start by saying that it's a potentially controversial book. Written by a man, it is remarkably empowering towards women, deconstructing passages in the Bible that have been used as a basis for male dominance over women. I can't get into all of the theological statements he makes, but he discusses contextual vs. universal application of the Bible, the progressive nature of Jesus' relationship towards women, the strong female leaders God has raised up in the Old Testament, all the way back to the nature of Adam and Eve's relationship.

Throughout the book, he also provides brief biographies of strong Christian female historical figures (Joan of Arc, Mother Theresa, and more) and small snippets of personal experience, finishing with strong females he personally knows.

It's a very well-written book, and acknowledges the controversial nature of the subject, but clearly lays out the argument in a non-confrontational tone.
