Sometimes it's hard to save energy like we should - it's hard to remember to turn down the thermostat or turn off lights, for example. But Smith Monitoring has a great option - Smart+ Home Service. It makes it easy to save energy with some pre-set options, or customize to fit your family. It works with your thermostat to automatically adjust the temperature based on activity level in your home and your phone's proximity to the house - so if you leave, the temperature automatically goes down, and comes back up as you get closer.

 

It's an add-on option for a complete home monitoring system that also includes standard options like alarm monitoring. It also offers remote arm and disarm, alerts, weather warnings, and notifications. The package comes with window contacts, thermostats, the control panel, and signage (which has been shown in studies to deter up to 80% of attempted burglaries).

If I were going to get a home system, I'd definitely consider the Smart+ Home Energy because it includes thermostat controls. We currently use a programmable thermostat, but having the system automatically adjust for when we're gone for longer periods would be really nice! It's definitely a great option to consider if you're in the market for a monitoring system.
