Parenting Pointers: From Worrier to Warrior

Disclosure: I received complimentary products to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

Daniel B. Peters, Ph.D., licensed psychologist and author and father, is co-founder and Executive Director of the Summit Center (San Francisco area, CA), specializing in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and families, with special emphasis on gifted, talented, and creative individuals and families as well as anxiety. He is co-author of Raising Creative Kids (Great Potential Press, 2013), and the new book MAKE YOUR WORRIER A WARRIOR and its companion children's book FROM WORRIER TO WARRIOR as well as many articles on topics related to giftedness, twice-exceptionality, dyslexia, and anxiety.

I loved that he has a special emphases on gifted and talented kids, as my oldest does tend to be a worrier sometimes, and is gifted. There seems to be a link there, probably because she is able to track and predict a million possibilities, just like I was when I was her age.

The books I got to review work together nicely. There's a book for parents and a book for kids. Each one can definitely help worriers on their own, but it's even more effective to use them together. The video down below offers some information about slaying the worry monster, and you can also find more information when you follow @drdanpeters or visit facebook.com/drdanpeters.
