Consumer Critique: Why Kids Make You Fat....

Disclosure: I received complimentary products to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

After the birth of his son, Mark Macdonald, nutritionist and former fitness model, gained thirty-five pounds. He realized that adding a new member of the family contributes to a lot of adult weight gain, and along with his wife, Abbi, created an eight-week program specifically geared toward parents to help them shed the weight, discover new amounts of energy, and most importantly, create new sustainable habits to keep it from coming back.

In Why Kids Make You Fat …and How to Get Your Body Back, the reasons behind the change in diet and exercise habits are clearly laid out, as well as the effect that the new stress can have on energy level. Written by parents who have been in the same boat as many other busy parents going through transition, this book takes that into account and doesn't push anything that is going to take inordinate amounts of time, cost a lot of money, or be difficult to do (such as special menus) while raising a family. Instead, parents will find practical advice that they can incorporate into daily life to not only boost their own health, but set their family toward a lifetime of healthy habits as well.
