Book Nook: Luther and Katharina - A Novel of Love and Rebellion

Disclosure: I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.

Luther and Katharina: A Novel of Love and Rebellion was, for me, a great novel from the start. Growing up Lutheran, I knew a little bit about the two (much more about Luther), but this book gave this story a much bigger impact for me. It started right of with the harrowing tale of the escape from the convent, and followed their forbidden relationship and eventual partnership.

If you like religious history, especially if you're Lutheran or just interested in a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most notable religious reformers in history, this is a good book to read. It's well-written, keeps the reader interested, while being as close to historical fact as is possible without actually being there.

Jody Hedlund is a CBA best-selling author of ten books. Her first novel, The Preacher’s Bride, won the Reader’s Choice Award as part of the RWA Faith, Hope, and Love contest. Hedlund revels in bringing forgotten historic women to life and can usually be found with a book, a cup of coffee and a piece of chocolate. She lives in Midland, Michigan with her husband and five children.
