Music Minute: Club Called Awesome (The Singing Lizard)

Liz DeRoche (a.k.a. The Singing Lizard) has a children's/electronic/pop/dance fusion style she calls "Electro-Kindie."  On March 25, she'll release of her third album for families, Club Called Awesome.

I had a chance to review the album, which would actually be great for families that have little kids and older kids in the same house. The appealing style and rhythm of electronic and pop music, combined with kid-friendly lyrics that tell cute stories, means that the whole family can enjoy listening. There's even a comic book that goes along with the album, to help bring the story to life.

The album's positive lyrics include adventure, self-confidence, trying new things, inclusiveness, and growing up, all great themes for kids to hear positive messages.

A native of Western Oregon, Liz DeRoche traveled the world prior to settling down in Washington, DC, where she lived for eight years.  Since January 2

Previous albums by The Singing Lizard include Make Believe (2013) and AlphaBeat (2010).

Club Called Awesome will be available on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, Bandcamp, and at The Singing Lizard's live shows.

015 she has been happy to call the San Francisco Bay Area home.
