I recently had a chance to review Positive Parenting - An Essential Guide. There are a lot of books out there that focus on different aspects of parenting, but what really stood out with this one for me was the focus on being positive.Parenting is hard work. There's a lot to think about and sometimes parents end up on auto-pilot, monotonous and joyless. In the book, Rebecca Eanes shares ways to break these negative thought patterns and create a more positive family culture. She talks about quite a few proven techniques to stay calm, and also includes a few that I hadn't used before. There are also ways to deal with common parenting challenges that come up in nearly every family, and positive communication tips for kids in a variety of ages.
The book was written in a casual, friendly tone, with realistic, practical advice that can be worked into any family. It was easy to read, easy to find useful information, and easy to use what works for our family.
