Consumer Critique: GardenLites Lunchbox and Picnic Options

We're a long ways off from back-to-school season (although some retailers have already started the promotions) but work and picnicking are also good times to look at easy-to-pack lunchbox options. Fresh veggies are always awesome to include, but some kids resist. I recently had a chance to review some tasty lunchbox ideas from Garden Lites, "the delicious vegetable company."

It's an ambitious tagline, but it's true. They're options are full of vegetables, often low-calorie, and very convenient. They have a range of gluten-free foods, and many products that combine veggies in ways that kids might not expect. For example, the Superfood Veggie Cakes include carrots, kale, and red bell peppers, but taste like a carrot cake muffin. The chocolate muffins contain zucchini and carrots, but you'd never notice. The nice thing is they're small, so you can microwave them quickly, or just let them thaw to room temperature in your lunchbox or picnic basket. With all the extra veggies, they often contain a good amount of fiber as well, a nutrient that's often lacking in our diets.

I'll definitely buy more Garden Lites products in the future! Although my kids like many vegetables, it's never bad to look for healthier alternatives of snack foods and treats as well!
