It's interesting to read about all of the options out there. I learned a lot reading the book about some technologies I hadn't heard of previously. I can't say that I agreed with all of the author's assessments about what the dominant green energy sources will be, but I do applaud the efforts to raise awareness of the importance of exploring these alternative energy sources. The "winner" in the book is the source that will provide the greatest benefit to the overall global environment and economy.
“We can turn the lights
on for everyone on the planet, but not with wind and solar power,”
Schwendiman said. “And we can meet the rapidly growing demand for fuel,
but not with oil shale, natural gas, or hybrid and electric engines.”
“The truth about how to
solve the world’s most pressing problems may come as a surprise,”
Schwendiman said. “Yes, much of it resides in cutting-edge technology
and forward thinking but, in many ways, it is already right here under
our noses.”
Gary Schwendiman cofounded one of the first private equity firms in the
United States to invest exclusively in clean energy. He has given
presentations on clean energy topics in 26 states and 10 foreign
countries. To learn more about Gary Schwendiman and his book visit: www.FutureofCleanEnergy.com.
