Glossique nail wraps are non-toxic and kid-friendly, and require no heating - so they're even easier to apply than some nail wraps that require heating. They peel off easily and leave very little or no residue behind (at least, when I pulled them off), but they stay on pretty well - my older daughter had better luck than my younger one, but even my wannabe-ninja's nails stayed on longer than I expected.
