Book Nook: YOUR HEALTHCARE PLAYBOOK - Winning the Game of Modern Medicine

Many of the new healthcare changes are similar to the NFL’s practices.

In
YOUR HEALTHCARE PLAYBOOK: Winning the Game of Modern Medicine, (
which I got the ebook to review) Dennis Deruelle, MD, FHM uses the most successful franchise in American history to break down our confusing new healthcare system and make it easier to understand, using insights from key members of the NFL as well as some of the foremost doctors and safety experts to help you and your family stay safe.
With over 20 years in practice, Dr. Deruelle offers a clear, nonpartisan explanation of the law using simple football language. He interviews NFL insiders, players, concussion experts, and doctors, and applies those interviews to the average person.

It includes a section about post-election coverage, and turns football analogies into helpful tips.

Dr. Deruelle leads 19,000 doctors in hospitals across the country in the new value models of healthcare to improve quality and reduce cost, so he knows how to get it done and put patients above politics. He discusses:
patient-centered healthcare / the consumerism movement
the MVP of your healthcare team
how your healthcare game plan starts and ends with your goals and preferences
what he teaches doctors and hospitals to improve the patient experience
how the new doctor-patient relationship is comprised of teams
how to find the best value as patients pay more of the tab for their care
how to avoid surprise out of pocket spending
how to take advantage of “Fitcoin” - $ from employers and insurers to offset bills w/ healthy behavior
cutting through the politics - what all these confusing laws and rules mean for you and your family
