I recently had a chance to review Oogie the Bear’s Rainy Day Adventure, a charming book about a bear who discovers he can't have is favorite snack of crackers, and sets out to discover why.
As Oogie travels in search of a solution, kids learn brief lessons about where products come from and about sticking to a goal until it's accomplished. While there are a lot of steps that go into making a box of crackers, kids of all ages will at least learn that there's more than just getting the crackers off the shelf involved - the baker, the store, and even the raw ingredients are all pieces of the puzzle.
They'll also watch as Oogie travels backwards through the chain of production, and find out how Oogie himself is able to help out, until he finally gets his favorite snack.
