Caring Causes: Bridge to a Cure and SuperClara

The holiday season can feel stressful for families and kids dealing with terminal illness or other life-altering challenges. If you know a child or grandchild who could use an uplifting gift of hope this season, this is just the book for them.
SuperClara” is the story of a five-year-old girl named Clara who is “super positive and super happy.” When she learns she has brain cancer, she agrees to undergo surgery, radiation and chemotherapy even though she feels afraid. Following radiation treatment, she discovers she has a new superpower: the ability to connect with animals, understand how they are feeling and hear what they are saying to her.
“SuperClara” presents answers in a way that instills comfort to children who are facing some of life’s most challenging moments. It also gives kids a much-needed boost of courage.
Robert Martin and granddaughter Keira wrote this book for his other granddaughter Clara, who, like the girl in the story, was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. The book launched as an Amazon #1 bestseller and all profits go directly to Bridge to a Cure Foundation.
“Last year on St. Patrick’s Day,” says Martin, “my granddaughter Clara — Keira’s younger sister — was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Since that day, we’ve watched Clara withstand aggressive radiation, invasive brain surgery and months of highly toxic chemotherapy with an attitude that redefines the word ‘courage.’ Keira and I wrote this book to honor that courage, and to show other children who may be going through something similar that they, too, can find their courage.”
