Author Jodie Berndt has created the Praying the Scriptures series. As Christians, we know that we should pray, but sometimes it can be hard to figure out how to pray. Praying the Scriptures provides a foundation to base prayers around, and also helps ensure that our prayers are aligned with God's will.Praying for our kids doesn't stop when they move out. Praying the Scriptures for Your Adult Children: Trusting God with the Ones You Love is geared towards parents whose kids have left home. I had a chance to review this book, and although my kids haven't left home yet, I still enjoyed the book, and it'll make a good resource as they get older.
The book covers a variety of topics: finances, health, relationships. Using prayers right from Scripture, Jodie gives parents Bible verses to pray over their adult children. Jodie is sensitive to cultural issues while remaining Biblically founded. She even touches on more extreme issues such as leaving the church and addiction, and writes about long-term concerns that seem to go unanswered.
This is a great resource for anyone who has enjoyed previous Praying the Scriptures books or is looking for a foundation for prayers for their children who have left home.
