Learning About Hemp

I recently had a chance to interview Ryan Medico, CEO of Elev8 Brands, to learn more about hemp and its use in products.

How is the hemp industry avoiding the stigma of being associated with a drug?

Our job as companies with hemp based products is to educate. I believe in areas where medical marijuana is legal, the population is more educated on differences between hemp and marijuana. When people realize there is no THC in hemp they are open ears to all the health benefits.

Why are people becoming more receptive to hemp?

As more companies and products hit the market online and traditional brick and mortar, people are surrounded by the word “hemp.” The more often people are seeing hemp in locations like grocery stores and online, the more comfortable they feel purchase.

What kinds of products can hemp be used in?

Hemp can be used in many products. We use a hemp protein powder in our coffee and our tea. Ultimately you could use the powder in most foods. Many companies are using hemp oil in all types of snacks like gummies and food bars.
