Book Nook: Healing the Nation

There's no doubt that our country, while amazing in many ways, could stand some improvement. Public discourse is often bitter and confrontational, with neither side seeking a common ground from which to begin and instead starting off with an us-vs-them mentality. Obviously there are exceptions, but there is enough division that we can all work towards agreement.

Healing Our Nation by Tom Donnan is a Biblical look at how churches can work towards reconciliation. It uses an bold text choice with 2 Chronicles 7:14 - "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

The focus of the book is to spring churches out of mediocrity and towards revival - not just for the church's sake, but for the country's. It's easy to read, and inspiring for anyone who wants hope that this nation can be brought together.
