The first was a book that I appreciated overall, but those that are averse to the occasional curse word shouldn't read Bada__ Babe Workbook. What I loved about it was that it encapsulated a wide variety of strong women from many different age, religious, and ethnic backgrounds in a wide variety of fields - so there was something that will resonate with every woman. The book guides readers through a variety of creative exercises to find self-empowerment and their own ways to be strong and fierce. It's a great gift for someone who is, or wants to become, a confident babe.
The next one was great for my daughter. Everyone loves getting mail, but it's kind of a dying art. Happy Mail provided many different ideas for stylish and creative snail mail. It provides the basics in hand-lettering and ways to use it in stationery and cards. Even the basics of brush calligraphy are included. The ideas are easy to implement and it's also possible to find an idea for everyone in your life who would enjoy a card. By using your own DIY art, you can send a personalized letter or card that the recipient will enjoy.
The last book was fun for the whole family. Kitchen Science Lab for Kids provided some great learning experiences for our homeschool science time. There are 52 experiments, and they all required basic household items - very rarely do I have to buy something for an activity, and then it's usually something I normally have on hand but just ran out of. Topics include chemistry, biology, and physics, with experiments that are easy to duplicate and fun for kids of all ages, whether or not they understand all of the science going on. With great photography and clear instructions, it's an easy-to-use book that provides fun and learning.
