Book Nook: Okayest Mom - When God's Plan of Adoption Doubled My Family

I recently had a chance to review Okayest Mom - When God's Plan of Adoption Doubled My Family. I enjoyed reading about Natalie Gwyn's adoption story. I have several friends who have adopted, and it's not an easy journey - but it is very rewarding.

In Natalie's case, this wife and working mother of two was led by God to double the size of her family by adopting four Ethiopian children. It's a crazy thing to do, but it was something that God called her family to do.

The book combines humor, suspense, and good storytelling to share the story of how they ultimately decided to take the leap of faith, adopt the three siblings, and then the fourth who they discovered was part of the family. She's honest about what it's like to blend the families together, and gives each child a voice in the story as well. It's a great read for anyone interested in what it might be like to adopt.

NATALIE GWYN is a working wife and mother of six who lives in northern California. To keep from hiding in her closet, she writes what has become a very popular blog.
