Music Minute: Raffi - Dog on the Floor

Raffi has been around for a really long time, and he just released his 25th album, Dog on the Floor. I had a chance to review this album, which incorporates fun, imagination, and learning, including play and relationships.

Three of the songs were inspired by his new puppy, and will be fun for anyone who has a dog (or wants one). It's an upbeat recording with a somewhat informal sound, with most of the recording taking place in his own home. Raffi's style invites kids to sing along with his relatable lyrics and catchy tunes, simple but not boring.

Turning 70 this summer, Raffi is as busy as ever. He is working towards a September 2018 launch of an online course in Child Honouring-an original philosophy for redesigning society for the greatest good by meeting the universal needs of the very young (https://www.childhonouring.org).     A recipient of the Order of Canada and the United Nations' Earth Achievement Award, Raffi also holds four honorary degrees. He is associated with many NGOs, including the Center for Partnership Studies, the Center for Children's Health and the Environment, and the Fraser Mustard Institute for Human Development.
