North Dakota native, Joe Schmidt, has released an inspirational single titled “Audience Of One.” The tune reflects a moving inspirational vibe combined with meaningful lyrics, which references who we are all really performing for in this life, God. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the AO1 Foundation, which was founded in 2017 by Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, Carson Wentz, with a mission to uplift those in need. The song is available onAmazon, iTunes, Google Play and Spotify. The accompanying lyric video has surpassed 100k video views can be viewed here.
Schmidt, his wife Sherry, Tim Daley and well-known songwriter Bruce Bruch, co-wrote the meaningful song. “Audience of One” had an exclusive debut on Rise Up Country with John Ritter, and is being promoted to over 2000 radio stations across the country. “Audience of One” shares a heartfelt message of remembering that when the game and cheers are over, God is whom we are performing for in this life.
The idea for the song started while at a Make-A-Wish fundraiser, where a young boy diagnosed with PKAN disease was hoping to win a signed Carson Wentz football. He had walked by and admired the ball several times throughout the evening. The boy didn’t win the football that night, so Joe made it his mission to get that young man a signed Carson Wentz football. Six months later along with his family, they hand delivered that young boy a signed Carson Wentz football. After many talks with the Wentz family and the AO1 Foundation, Schmidt made a trip to Nashville, where he wrote and recorded “Audience of One” in the same week.

About Joe Schmidt:
Joe Schmidt grew up in south central North Dakota in what he describes as “an incredible childhood” of hunting, fishing and caring for the family’s registered Simmental cattle. He also fostered his love of music by playing saxophone in the school band, singing in the church and school choirs and singing along with Marty Robbins, Keith Whitley, George Strait and Garth Brooks on the radio. After starting a family in his hometown of Medina, North Dakota, Joe launched successful trucking and feeder cattle marketing businesses to supplement his small grains and soybeans farm. Only years later to have an inspiration guide him towards a special project: to record a CD worth of his favorite songs as a family heirloom for his wife and four children. After arriving in Nashville to complete the family treasure, others recognized
Joe’s rich sound and honest lyrics and convinced he needed to share his gift should be with people around the world. Since then Joe has embraced that challenge and began recording original songs that capture his faith, the love for family, the land and this great nation. Joe draws inspiration for his music from the wide-open North Dakota prairie, friends and family. He credits his father, who instilled the philosophies and the values of honesty, integrity and hard work.
