I had a chance to interview Karen Mussette, author of My Guardian Angels. Mussette says that guardian angels and real and shares why we should believe in them.
Where does the term guardian angels come from?
I’m not a theology or religious expert, but I believe since the beginning of humanity, angels were assigned to protect people on earth by God. It’s not just within Christianity, angels are mentioned in the Old Testament, regarding Judaism and in the Koran. All these faiths speak highly of angels, guardian or otherwise. Angel in Greek, means messenger…a messenger from God. Beautiful.
Why is the term so often used?
I think deep down most people want to believe in a higher power, even if they are afraid to admit it. It’s funny because even an atheist friend of mine once slipped, and said to me, “Thank God!” I suppose having that extra protection from the spirit world and God, is a lovely, wonderful thought. And indeed it is…
Why should people believe in guardian angels?
It’s all about hope. And faith. Believing in something that isn’t tangible. Knowing that you are never really alone…that you are watched over, loved and cared for by God and his amazing messengers. I think there are more angels on earth than people. Because some people have more than one guardian angel. My sister once told me I have ten.. the way I drive!
Can you share a little bit about your book?
On a night of endless praying, I suddenly felt this overwhelming LOVE surrounding me. I experienced a true moment with God. A Divine Intervention. Whispers from heaven into my soul. Somehow they allowed me to capture their images, which is remarkable. This moment inspired me to write my little book about helping the world, with all of its injustices…
