Book Nook: Millennial Money Makeover

Certified public accountant and millennial, Conor Richardson, knows what it feels like to worry about money. However, he has found his way to financial freedom and is now sharing the strategies that helped him in the new book I got to review, MILLENNIAL MONEY MAKEOVER: Escape Debt, Save for Your Future, and Live the Rich Life.

“Financial success can be engineered,” says Richardson. “Adopting the right mental outlook and behaviors needed to turn your finances around will pay for itself tenfold. This success will increase your self-confidence, enhance your decision making, and expand your career choices.”

The book is an easy read, written from someone who's been there, not just someone who's out of touch. It's practical, and although there weren't a lot of new strategies for me, it's written in a way that targets young adults who don't have a great deal of financial knowledge. I loved the idea of passion budgeting, and that was efinitely a big take away for me.

MILLENNIAL MONEY MAKEOVER is built for readers in their twenties and thirties and teaches new hacks like how using robo-advisors can increase your returns and how leveraging delayed gratification when buying your first home can save you thousands. Whether you are planning a passion budget, figuring out how to finally purchase that big-ticket item, or thinking about taking your first dip into investing, Richardson can show you the way.
