Area Attractions: CTC's The Hobbit

I recently had a chance to attend a show for CTC's world premiere of The Hobbit. My family and I really enjoyed it.

The play manages to squeeze the important events of the book all into a two-hour show. The acting shows the versatility of some of the actors - especially Reed Sigmund, who gets a very serious role, a departure from the more comical roles we've seen him in before. My older daughter and I really enjoyed the on-stage presence of the two-man pit. My younger daughter loved the adventure and fantasy. My husband and I were impressed at what five actors were able to convey.

There's a really neat audience resource guide available too, with activities that can help kids preview the show or extend the fun (and education) at home.

The show runs through April 14th, and tickets are still available for a variety of the shows.
