I loved the chance to review Draw 62 Animals and Make Them Cute by Heegyum Kim from Quarry Books. My daughter loves drawing animals, and she loves making things cute, so this was a perfet combination.
Kim leads readers step-by-step in sketching dozens of charming creatures from bees to whales. Each project begins with easy-to-follow visual steps to build the animal, ending with variations you can try as you practice. The book is perfect for beginning artists or those looking to shake up their routine with a blast of cuteness.
My daughter really enjoyed this book. She tried drawing animals she hadn't tried before, and she really had fun giving her animals a personality and trying out some of the variations. She loved drawing her favorite animals the most, but some of the other tips were so irresistible she had to try them too. This really is a good book for older kids or adults who want to try out some new techniques to give their drawing life, especially for illustrating stories (which is what my daughter did).
