This isn't exactly a book, but I recently saw an issue of Harness Magazine. This particular issue (issue III) focused on motherhood and included perspective from women around the world.
I liked how this magazine was laid out. It had a beautiful, classy layout and interesting content. It also was encouraging, and this particular issue had a lot of stories of transformation.
I had never heard of this magazine before, but I love their mission - to help women feel more heard and seen. Their website is also beautiful and classy (no other way to describe it) so you feel like you're really getting a good experience, not just light fluff. They have poetry as well as content on lifestyle, relationships, culture, food, and more. Some content is lighter (An Open Letter to the Tinder Date Who Said My Moisturizer Smelled Like Pringles) some more heavy-hitting (The Thought Process of an Anorexic).
They do have a shop with encouraging, inspiring, or beautiful products, some very feminine, others not as much, and the look and feel does a really good job (I think) of speaking to a variety of women, from the muted colors and pastels to elegant lines and dark accents; from a literary feel to practical content. You can even submit your own content, and they have a member's lounge that they're working on getting created.
Check it out if you're looking for a women's magazine that is just a little bit different.
