Book Nook: More Things in the Heavens - How Infrared Astronomy is Expanding Our View of the Universe

My family really likes space and so I was very interested in the opportunity to review More Things in the Heavens: How Infrared Astronomy is Expanding Our View of the Universe.

People have been trying to discover things in the sky for as long as there have been people able to see the sky! However, the technology has vastly changed, which means that we are able to see so much more than we used to be able to see. Even in the past decade, advances have been made that have allowed for new discoveries about the universe.

In this book, Michael Werner and Peter Eisenhardt, two scientists who worked on the Spitzer Space Telescope, share discoveries and information learned by this infrared telescope. It was amazing, and a different look at discoveries in space. It's both scientific and comprehensible, informative and interesting. It's a great book for anyone interested in space or scientific discoveries.

Michael Werner is a senior research scientist at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology. He has been the lead scientist for the Spitzer Space Telescope since 1984. He lives in Pasadena, California. Peter Eisenhardt is a senior research scientist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He received NASA’s Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medal for his work on Spitzer. He lives in Altadena, California.
