Money Makers: FlexJobs Announces Top 30 Companies Hiring for Part-Time Remote Jobs

According to a FlexJobs’ survey, more people reported being interested in a part-time schedule (47 percent) than being interested in freelance work (41 percent). To help job seekers interested in finding part-time jobs where they can also work from home, today FlexJobs released a list of the Top 30 Companies to Watch for Part-Time Remote Jobs. This list is based on an analysis of over 50,000 companies and looks specifically at their part-time job posting histories that offered either full or partial remote work options in FlexJobs’ database during the first six months of 2019 (January 1 through June 30).
“Part-time, remote opportunities are particularly attractive to a talent pool of educated and highly skilled job seekers who don’t necessarily fit the in-office, 9-to-5 mold, and the great news is that some employers even offer benefits to part-time employees, such as health insurance coverage, paid time off, and education stipends,” said Sara Sutton, founder and CEO of FlexJobs. “As this list of companies demonstrates, there are plenty of wonderful opportunities for professionals across industries to work on a part-time basis, even from the comfort of their own home,” Sutton concluded.
Part-time work can allow workers to continue in and/or advance their careers without having to commit to a full-time schedule, become exposed to new industries or career paths, grow their professional networks, supplement income, help transition to retirement, and/or pursue their passions. And, according to a recent study, working even as little as a few hours a week can have positive mental and emotional health benefits for workers.
Part-time work is generally considered to be under 30 or 35 hours per week, but how the part-time schedule is defined typically depends on the employer’s needs, and sometimes the worker’s preference as well. Most part-time job listings include an estimate or range of hours needed for the role.
