Book Nook: How Winston Delivered Christmas

I recently had the chance to review a book designed to engage young readers throughout the holiday season: How Winston Delivered Christmas.

In the book, a mouse named Winston finds a lost letter addressed to Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. Determined to make sure it gets to its recipient, so that the letter's writer will get their Christmas wish, he makes the journey to personally deliver the letter.

It's a cute story, and it's great for kids who are having a hard time counting down to Christmas. It's designed to be read one short chapter a day, starting on December 1st, with an activity to do each day. The activities are actually really good - they'll work for kids of a variety of ages, and most of them don't require anything that most people don't have (and the few things you might need to get are easy to buy and not really expensive). It teaches the lesson of perseverance and good results of good deeds, as well as makes an enjoyable holiday activity for the whole family.
