Don’t let the cold crimp your cute winter style

Just because the temperature is dropping and it’s getting colder outside, it doesn’t mean you should drop the ball on your winter style. You can still look cute despite the cold. All it takes is finding the right accessories.

But, first things first, make sure you layer your clothing to provide extra warmth this winter. Begin with a solid base layer, like a bodysuit that fits you perfectly. A soft sweater over a chambray shirt with corduroy pants will make a fashion statement as soon as you take your coat off. You want to look good when you’re outdoors as well as indoors, so take the time to find the right pieces for you.

Here are the best winter accessories to put on your shopping list:
A Winter Coat
One of the most important purchases you can make when the weather gets colder is a nice, insulated winter coat. And most people buy a few coats to swap out depending on the severity of the weather. A peacoat works when its chilly but tolerable. A waist-length puffer jacket is perfect for cold days when the sun is shining. A long insulated parka saves the day when you need to leave your house in the freezing cold or snow.

Gloves
The worst thing you want to do is rush out the door on a cold winter day and realize you forgot to cover your hands. You stick them in your coat pockets as they begin to freeze. Gloves and mittens keep your hands protected from the elements, and they come in different fabrics, colors and some even have touch screen fingertips so you can still use your phone without compromising your hands to the cold.

Scarves
Not only do scarves keep your neck warm, but just like other winter accessories, they come in a variety of colors, patterns, and sizes. It’s not hard to find one (or 10) that will work with pieces already in your wardrobe. Scarves can be worn as an addition to your outfit, or as an outer layer with your coat. And with so many options — from lightweight, fur and oversized — it’s best to buy a few different styles to work with the weather.

Hats
To add some warmth and protect your eyes, pick up a winter hat. In most cases, you can find hats and scarves that come in a set so you can match perfectly. Other options include hats with pom-poms (they look cute on everyone) and ones with hanging tassels. Want to try something different? Try on a wool beret or a crochet beanie.

With so many great accessories in different styles, fabrics, and prints, it’s not hard to bundle up and still look chic.
